Tokyo Slaves is a 2014 Japanese movie starring Sayaka Akimoto and Kanata Hongo. This movie is about two siblings named Arakawa Eia (Sayaka Akimoto) and Yuuga Oda (Kanata Hongo) who got involved in a game of SCM, or Slave Control Method. One day, Yuuga was able to buy a pair of SCM from internet. SCM is a device used to enslave someone through winning in a showdown or a game. It involves 23 "masters" that has to launch a showdown, whoever loses the game will have to be the slave of the winning opponent. The story progresses into which Yuuga and Eia were not just concern of enslaving others but to save them from the master of all enslavery, the one who made SCM in the first place.
While watching this movie, I can't help but compare it to BDSM which at some point, involves slavery in a contracted way. At the beginning of the story, all the "masters" wanted to enslave others to take advantage of them in any way they could think of, whether sex, money or need of strength support. Tokyo Slaves for me upgraded the concept of BDSM in a more weirder and bloddy manner where inflicting so much more pain close to dying would still be possible and acceptable just to please the masters. That is what was in my mind while watching the movie.
I would have to say that the games involve were quite simple yet terrifying. One would not want to play rock-paper-scissors in a condition that the losing side will be the slave of the other. That means giving your life as well.
It was creppy, weird, bloody but brilliant at some way of executing the game.
The ending of the movie showed how Yuuga and Eia are involve yet again in wearing the device and again, having a showdown with someone else. It only shows that the idea of the game is addicting and tempting. And it will not end as long as there is someone who wanted to enslave others.
