THE TIME WE WERE NOT IN LOVE | KOREAN DRAMA REVIEW

"The Time we were not in love" starring Ha Ji Won and Lee Jin Wook is the korean version of the hit Taiwanese drama "In Time With you" starring Ariel Lin and Bolin Chen. This is a story of two people, Oh Ha Na and Choi Won who have been best friends for 17 years. Now 34 years old, both are succesful individuals in their choosen career. Oh Ha Na became the team leader in a marketing team of a shoe company while Choi Won is a cabin attendant in an airline company. Through 17 years of friendship, they both claim to not develop any feelings for each other.

I have watched the first few episodes of this drama and I actually love it. There are many dramas that focuses on the bestfriend-never-developed-any-feelings kind of genre but this one is delivered naturally. While watching the drama, one would actually asked as to why do they have not developed any feelings for each other despite of the closeness and all but it still answers the question, "they are just friends". At some certain point, I saw that hidden line drawn between them that says "they are just friends" right from the start. In actual life, that really happens. That is, when silently, friends know that loving eac other is a red flag and might actually ruin the relationship. It's realistic as to how this drama present that idea.

I would also have to comment the chemistry between Ha Ji Won and Lee Jin Wook. The love that they wanted to show in the drama is very much evident as if watching two individuals who are in actual relationship.

I have not watched the Taiwanese version of this drama but I would have to say that the korean version is opt to a new start.

I can't wait to see more of what it could offer to its viewers.
